JFC Welcomes The Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival

Please join us in welcoming our newest Jazz Festivals Canada member, the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival! We are thrilled to have Executive Director Karen Zukas, Artistic Director Dave Quinn and their team join the JFC network.

The Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival is a multi-day annual event with a mandate to enrich cultural life by bringing emerging and established jazz acts and visual art together to the beautiful and quaint Village of Fort Langley, British Columbia. Established in 2018, the festival draws thousands of residents and visitors to the streets of Fort Langley, usually during the last weekend in July. The festival produces multiple outdoor stages featuring free world-class jazz performances, headliner ticketed concerts, strolling street bands, Jazz Around Town performances at local restaurants, interactive art activities, a family zone featuring music and art activities, an Indigenous art and culture showcase, and a Jazz Education Workshop for youth. The festival also hosts several jazz concert series throughout the year as well as a Rising Star award that recognizes an outstanding music student who is studying jazz at the post-secondary level.

The 2020 edition of the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival is about to be the most creative and widely watched version of the festival in its short, but already strong history. The organization has planned for a virtual festival with three nights and two days of virtual programming from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6, bringing artists together with audiences from across Canada and around the world. The weekend will feature live and pre-recorded performances, conversations, access to the artists, community profiles, interactive art activities, intimate in-person concerts, a virtual jazz education workshop and previously unavailable interactivity and participatory programming.
